Mom’s Mystery Killer Exposed 23 Years Later

A Maryland mother’s co-workers became concerned when she didn’t show up for work on May 2, 2001. Police searched Leslie Preer’s home, which had traces of blood everywhere, and found her dead in the shower of her upstairs bathroom. Detectives investigated her family, friends and anyone else who was in regular contact with Leslie and found no clear suspect. Two decades later, investigators reopened the case and used advances in genetic genealogy to identify a suspect in a familial DNA database. Find out what happened to Leslie Preer on this episode of “Prime Crime with Jesse Weber.”
