At about 9:40 pm on August 16, 1972, Ingrid Bauer walked out of her home in Kleinburg (now the city of Vaughan, Ontario), a town about 45 kms north of downtown Toronto, to hitchhike to her boyfriend's place, in North Woodbridge.
