She says her family is in agony. She also pointed out, "We will never stop looking for her."
Just after Savannah's mention went live, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said he's "still positive" the case will be resolved. Investigators continue to dig through evidence. Nanos says, "We have so much DNA to sort through."

The FBI tested the first note by depositing cryptocurrency into the provided wallet address — the funds were never touched. A second note, sent to a local TV station, implied she had died and was “buried with nature.” A third, sent to TMZ in early June, claimed to have video and details of the kidnappers, but the FBI has also determined this was fabricated. Sheriff Chris Nanos has publicly stated he does not believe the new video claim and warned it is another example of fake ransom note activity.

Five months after Today show host Savannah Guthrie's mother disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona home, the mysterious letters claiming to be from her kidnappers remain one of the most controversial pieces of evidence in the investigation. Despite reports suggesting the ransom notes were fake, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos are still actively investigating the letters. So what’s actually happening behind the scenes?
In this episode of Criminally Obsessed, investigative reporter Anne Emerson sits down with FBI Behavioral Analysis Expert Morgan Wright to help us understand how the FBI analyzes - and debunks - ransom notes. What are the first red flags investigators look for? What makes a ransom demand credible? And what does an FBI expert make of this “parasitic” evidence in Nancy’s case?
While authorities sort through fact vs. fiction, the Guthrie family remains in limbo as they grieve this mysterious disappearance. If you’ve been following the Nancy Guthrie case from day one, this conversation offers a look inside the FBI's investigative process and answers many of the questions we’ve been asking about the ransom notes, the investigation, and what could happen next.more

Four months after Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother vanished from her Tucson, Arizona home, new theories and online speculation continue to swirl around the case. Can the masked suspect seen in the doorbell camera footage actually be identified? What is a "wrench attack," and could it explain what happened to Nancy Guthrie? And what should law enforcement do next?
In this episode of Criminally Obsessed, Anne Emerson sits down with Morgan Wright, a nationally recognized cybercrime and intelligence expert who has worked closely with the FBI on major investigations. Wright has been following the Nancy Guthrie case from the beginning and believes this is far more than a missing person investigation.
Wright also tackles some of the biggest claims circulating online, including whether advanced technology can identify the suspect from the surveillance footage and why he believes some popular theories may be distracting from the real investigative priorities. Drawing comparisons to techniques used in major cases like the Gilgo Beach serial killer investigation and hunt for Rex Heuermann, he explains what law enforcement may need to do next to generate new leads and avoid losing momentum.

Four months after Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home, investigators and volunteers are still searching for answers. A recent tip out of Mexico sent searchers chasing a new lead, but one veteran private investigator believes Nancy was taken to Northern Arizona. Why?
In this episode of Criminally Obsessed, Anne Emerson sits down with licensed private investigator Bill Garcia, who recently spent a week on the ground in Arizona working the case pro bono. He has searched for missing adults and children across the country for decades, and after examining the scene for himself, he believes Nancy’s disappearance was a targeted kidnapping, not a random crime.
As the FBI continues its search and Savannah publicly pleads for her mother’s return, one question remains at the center of this heartbreaking mystery: what will it take to bring Nancy home?

Nancy and her panel of experts explore the intense friction between local law enforcement and the FBI, exposing how federal assets and world-class forensic labs were allegedly sidelined during the most crucial early days of the disappearance.
Meanwhile Nancy's daughter, Savannah Guthrie launches her own $500,000 private investigation, possibly fueled by reservations about the Pima County Sheriffs handling of the case. The panel analyzes why a sudden lack of follow-up on early ransom notes has led experts to believe the abduction was a personal act of revenge rather than a scheme for money, and reviews how vehicle black boxes, Uber data, and Ring camera caches are being leveraged to track down the perpetrators; new tips claiming the trail leads directly into Sonora, Mexico. Anyone with information on Nancy Guthrie's whereabouts is urged to call the FBI at 1-800-225-5324. There is a $1.2-million reward to help bring Nancy Guthrie home.

The disappearance of Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother from her Tucson, Arizona home has gripped us since day one. Authorities say DNA evidence is now being analyzed at the FBI lab in Quantico, a move that suggests investigators believe it could be critical to finally bringing answers in Nancy’s disappearance. Forensic DNA expert Tiffany Roy has processed thousands of DNA samples and worked on thousands of cases - it’s her job to review cases that have been processed by private and government labs, and make sure all procedures have been followed correctly. So... have they?We ask her what she believes is happening behind the scenes in Nancy’s case, and whether she thinks the Pima County Sheriff’s Department made a mistake in their process. With no arrest and no suspect publicly named, what will it take to find answers and bring Nancy home?more
